"Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good pleasure. Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world as you hold forth the word of life, in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. |

"being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
One of the most quoted Bible verses is Philippians 1:6 which says, "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Even though many people know that God begins a good work in us at salvation, most do not know what the good work is. To understand, appreciate, and experience |

Anger is an emotion many people allow
to control their lives. As a result, their anger causes many problems in
their own lives and in the lives of others. Jesus told a story about
king's servant who allowed anger to take charge of his
life. Consequently, his anger ruined his life. Before we look deeper
into the life of the angry servant, let's look at the cause and
consequences of anger.
THE MAJOR CAUSE OF ANGER
Someone does something we wish he or she had not done.
When
someone does something we wish he had not done, we get mad. |

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist... Ephesians 6:14
We are continuing to study the armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18. We have discovered that we take our stand against the lies of the devil and his powerful evil forces by standing in grace, or by believing the truths of all that God has freely done for us through Jesus in Ephesians 1,2, and 3. Let's now look take a closer look atstanding firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.
The purpose of a physical belt is to hold all of our clothes together so they do not come apart. |

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
We all know we are in daily battles. We fight these battles every day. They are real. However, we must identify who the real enemies are in these battles if we are to fight successfully and emerge from them victoriously.
So often in life, we feel like our battles are against others with whom we have relationships. |

Families pass down patterns of sin from one generation to the next. These patterns of sin include anger, impatience, unkindness, immorality, rudeness, addictions, worry, etc... Each of these causes tremendous pain and destruction in the lives of those living under these generational patterns. In this blog, let's focus on breaking the generational pattern of anger with the power of grace.
Maybe you grew up in a family where the generational pattern of anger was at work. Everyday you lived in fear of an angry parent. |

When we have sinned greatly, we feel we to have work ourselves back into a right standing with God through good works, obedient behavior, or a commitment to religious rules and standards. Our belief is through good works, obedient behavior, or faithful commitment to a religious system, we will gain God's acceptance that was lost when we sinned. However, the Bible teaches us that acceptance with God is never based upon the amount of sin in our lives or good works, obedience, or faithfulness to a religious system after we sin, but upon his abundant and amazing grace. |

Many times in our lives we are hurt by something someone says or does to us. What we do when we are hurt will determine if we move forward into a better and brighter future or backwards into a deeper and darker misery. Below, you will find four responses we have toward people who hurt us that push us backward into a deeper and darker misery and four responses that move us forward into a better and brighter future. The responses we choose will determine if we will move into a deeper and darker misery or better and brighter future. |
