TRUTH #1: The New Covenant (Testament) does not start at Matthew chapter one, the birth of Jesus, but starts with the death of Jesus at the end of Matthew. (I know this sounds strange, but let's look at this through the lens of what is biblical, not at what is traditional).

Trevor, having already placed his faith in Jesus, had been living in mental torment over going to hell if all his sins weren't confessed to God before he dies. With this torment in his mind, he asked me, "What if I die and all my sins aren't confessed? Will I go to heaven or hell?"
I asked Trevor what he meant by confess? What was his understanding of the purpose of confessing his sins? He told me he had been taught that every time he sins he needed to confess it to God so his sins could be forgiven. |

According to Jesus, his death and resurrection ushered
in the New Covenant of Grace. With the New Covenant of Grace, complete
forgiveness was ushered in (Matthew 26:27 and Luke 22:20). Under the Old Covenant of Law, forgiveness was conditional. Conditional forgiveness was God
forgiving us based upon our forgiveness of others. Complete forgiveness is God forgiving us of all our sins because Jesus died for all our sins. Through faith, we receive his complete forgiveness. Colossians 2:14 says “He (God) forgave us all our sins |
