People have varying opinions about Paul's thorn in the flesh.
However, Paul tells us exactly what his thorn was:
"...a messenger of Satan sent to torment me." (2 Corinthians 12:7)
So we know from Paul's own words the thorn was a messenger of Satan sent to torment him.
The question is:
Who is the messenger of Satan and how did this satanic messenger torment Paul?
The messenger of Satan may be the false apostles whom Paul referred to as servants of Satan (2 Corinthians 11:12-15).
It is possible they were seeking to destroy Paul's message and mission wherever he went. |

Most of us have heard the jingle, “Rain rain go away, come again another day”. And most of us have had these words playing in our minds in some form, “Shame shame go away, don’t ever come back, not any day.” Yet our shame keeps coming back, day after day after day. Shame is the self-disgust, self-hatred, and self-condemnation we feel toward ourselves for something we have done that we wish we would have never done. In regret, we say demeaning words to ourselves such as,
“I am so dumb.”
“I am so stupid. |

“I urge Euodia and Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true yokefellow, to help these women who have labored with me for the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.”
Philippians 4:2-3 Paul, The Apostle of Grace
In Philippians 4:1, Paul concluded his message about the righteousness that comes by faith alone in Jesus alone, telling the Philippian believers: “that is how you must stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.” Paul’s heart was to see them stand firm in what the Lord had done for them, receiving his righteousness by faith, rather than seeking to achieve righteousness through the religious and moral works put forth by the false teachers, whom Paul called “dogs, those workers of evil, those mutilators of the flesh! |

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist... Ephesians 6:14
We are continuing to study the armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18. We have discovered that we take our stand against the lies of the devil and his powerful evil forces by standing in grace, or by believing the truths of all that God has freely done for us through Jesus in Ephesians 1,2, and 3. Let's now look take a closer look atstanding firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.
The purpose of a physical belt is to hold all of our clothes together so they do not come apart. |

There are no perfect families. There are no perfect marriages. There are no perfect wives. There are no perfect husbands. There are no perfect parents. There are no perfect moms. There are no perfect dads. There are no perfect children. There are no perfect daughters. There are no perfect sons. There are no perfect siblings. There are no perfect sisters. There are no perfect brothers. For all have sinned and fall short of God's perfect love.
Yet, God demonstrated his perfect love for the imperfect, which are all of us, when in our imperfections, our sins, Jesus died for us. |

Many families long for the day when their loved one breaks free from his addiction and begins living for the purpose for which God created him. They find it difficult to understand why their loved one just doesn't quit. Their loved one's addiction has resulted in tremendous loss, heartache, and pain, leaving a trail of self-destruction. But their loved one continues in this addictive life-style, and they do not know why.
So what goes on inside the heart and mind of one who has an addiction? |

God wants us to excel in the grace of living. To excel means to separate oneself from the rest by going far beyond average in one's accomplishments, service, giving, sacrifice, product, or actions. In describing people, we may say a certain person excels athletically, meaning this person separates himself from the rest of the athletes by going far beyond the average athlete in a certain sport. We may describe a company as one that excels, meaning the company separates itself from the rest of the companies by going far beyond the other companies in its product and service. |

Have you ever felt so guilty for what you have done that you feel worthless, hopeless, useless? Have you ever felt you are a lost cause or a hopeless case? Do you ever feel alone in your guilt? Jesus' disciples felt this way following their denial, disowning, and desertion of Jesus. But in their guilt, he reached out to them in grace.
Jesus explained to his disciples that in two days he would be arrested and crucified. He told them they would all fall away from him following his arrest, and their denying, disowning, and deserting him. |

There is a color in my mind that is so beautiful that it can only be named Grace. And I want to paint the world with this color. David Pell
David had never heard about grace. But grace was the one thing he needed to hear about the most. You see, David was broken and bruised. He was hurting and hopeless. He was in pain and a prisoner. He was in darkness and death. He was a sheep without a shepherd.
David was in desperate need of grace.
Jesus came to heal the broken and bruised, the hurting and hopeless, and the prisoner in pain. |

You have prayed for years. You have believed for years. You have had faith for years. Still everything in your life continues to spiral down.
You sought God. You gave your life to God. You asked God for guidance. You asked God for provision. And everything falls apart.
You trusted in God's word that he rewards those who diligently seek him. Yet, rather than reward, you received hurt and pain.
Now you are left with your faith shattered. Your heart hurting. Your hope diminished. |
