Why Did Judas Commit Suicide? Why does anyone commit suicide?
People take their lives for several reasons.
Reason #1: To Get Love
Some believe by taking their lives they will get the love they long for from their friends, family, and others.
Reason #2: To Give Others A Chance At Happiness
Some believe by taking their lives they will give those they love a chance at happiness.
They see themselves as the cause of the hurt, pain, and problems in the family, and they believe by taking their lives they will be eliminating the source of the hurt, pain, and problems (themselves) and by doing so give their loved ones a chance at happiness.

Little River Band sang a song calledHang On, Help Is On The Way. The title of this song made me think of the love of the prodigal's father when he was running to his son to help him by showering grace upon him. If the Father could have delivered a message to his son, while his son was walking up the hot dusty road and while the father was running down that same road, I think it would have been Hang On! Grace Is On The Way!
Charlie walked into my office feeling hopeless. His life of addiction had caused tremendous pain, regret, guilt, and shame in his life. |

Have you ever felt so guilty for what you have done that you feel worthless, hopeless, useless? Have you ever felt you are a lost cause or a hopeless case? Do you ever feel alone in your guilt? Jesus' disciples felt this way following their denial, disowning, and desertion of Jesus. But in their guilt, he reached out to them in grace.
Jesus explained to his disciples that in two days he would be arrested and crucified. He told them they would all fall away from him following his arrest, and their denying, disowning, and deserting him. |

There is a color in my mind that is so beautiful that it can only be named Grace. And I want to paint the world with this color. David Pell
David had never heard about grace. But grace was the one thing he needed to hear about the most. You see, David was broken and bruised. He was hurting and hopeless. He was in pain and a prisoner. He was in darkness and death. He was a sheep without a shepherd.
David was in desperate need of grace.
Jesus came to heal the broken and bruised, the hurting and hopeless, and the prisoner in pain. |

Has there been something you have been wanting to quit? Something that you know is not good for you? Yet, you have tried over and over again to quit, but without any success. You're beginning to think, "What's the point? I can never quit. I've tried. I can't." I want to encourage you today to not give up. Today could be the day you quit, and quit for good! I want to suggest to you a different approach to quitting. This approach gets your mind off of quitting and on to living. |
