Success for many people sometimes feels way out of reach. They know what they want to accomplish, but they feel they do not have what it takes, that it is too much, too difficult, or that it will take too long. They feel there is no way it could ever be done...whatever the it is. So they give up before they ever get started.
I don't want to see you give up before you ever get started. I want to see you experience success. I want to see you reach your goals. I want to see you realize your dreams. |

Has there been something you have been wanting to quit? Something that you know is not good for you? Yet, you have tried over and over again to quit, but without any success. You're beginning to think, "What's the point? I can never quit. I've tried. I can't." I want to encourage you today to not give up. Today could be the day you quit, and quit for good! I want to suggest to you a different approach to quitting. This approach gets your mind off of quitting and on to living. |

STEP #1: Admit You Have A Problem
Many people with addictions try to hide their addictions from others. However, the longer they try to hide their addictions the longer they hurt. The first step to being set free from an addiction is to no longer keep it a secret. Part of the power of an addiction is keeping it private. By admitting to ourselves, God, and others our problem, the power of the addiction begins to be broken.
STEP #2: Understand God's Grace
Our struggle with addictions makes us feel worthless. |

Most churches have a mission statement. Along with the mission statement is the critical need to put a strategic ministry plan in place to accomplish the mission. One of the most important and enjoyable ventures a church leadership team and family can pursue is developing a strategic ministry plan to effectively fulfill their mission statement. But how does a church leadership team develop a strategic ministry plan that turns a mission statement into a thriving ministry? What does this strategic plan look like when it is developed around the church's mission statement? |

There are times in our lives when we need to take a break...to get away. We need to take a break from work, from ministry, from that new venture we have started, etc... We need to get away for a few hours, a couple of days, or a weekend. Here are four reasons why we may not take a break and four reasons why we must take a break.
WHY WE DON'T TAKE A BREAK
REASON #1: We Don't Take A Break Because We Feel Guilty
Many times we do not take breaks because of a false feeling of guilt. We feel we do not deserve a break. |

You're now up and running with your new venture. You began by thinking small, getting started, and continuing to move forward as you overcame obstacles and solved problems. The temptation now is to focus on all that still needs to be done. You know you still have a long way to go. All that needs to be done and the distance you still have to go can begin to weigh you down...get you down. But step back for a moment. Take a look at how far you have come. Look at how much progress you have made. Celebrate your progress! |

In the past two blogs, I encouraged you to think small and get started. Great job thinking small and getting started! Now that you have taken these two steps, I want to encourage you to keep moving. Once you have made a decision to think small and get started, it is so important that you keep moving. There are many obstacles you will encounter after you get started that will tempt you to give up. Rather than give up, you must keep moving by overcoming the obstacles you face. Here are six ways to keep moving forward. |

We are often encourage to think BIG. And we should. Yet, there are times when we should think small. Whenever we have a project to complete, a dream to pursue, or a task to finish, we often get consumed by how big the project, dream, or task is. We begin to concentrate on how much time it will take or how hard it will be. Consequently, we never get started. By thinking BIG, we actually talk ourselves right out of doing something important in our lives.
For example, take a person who wants to lose a significant amount of weight. |
