According to Jesus, the power of Satan grips the person who has not received God's forgiveness.
This person lives in the darkness, guilt, and shame of their sin.
The heart of Jesus is to see people freed from the powerful grip Satan has upon their lives and from the miserable darkness they live in daily, and start living in the light of God's love, forgiveness, and grace.
When people receive God's forgiveness, they are released from the power of Satan that grips them and the darkness that torments them. |

Why Did Judas Commit Suicide? Why does anyone commit suicide?
People take their lives for several reasons.
Reason #1: To Get Love
Some believe by taking their lives they will get the love they long for from their friends, family, and others.
Reason #2: To Give Others A Chance At Happiness
Some believe by taking their lives they will give those they love a chance at happiness.
They see themselves as the cause of the hurt, pain, and problems in the family, and they believe by taking their lives they will be eliminating the source of the hurt, pain, and problems (themselves) and by doing so give their loved ones a chance at happiness.

Take...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17b
The Spirit uses the word of God as his sword to defend us against the
deceptive, dangerous, and destructive lies of Satan. The question is: What is the word of God Paul is referring to in Ephesians 6:17b?
Paul is referring back to Ephesians 1:13 when he said, "In him you
also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation,
and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit..." In the context of Ephesians, the word of God is the word of truth, the
gospel or good news of God's grace about salvation (see my blogs on this website about Ephesians and the good news of God's grace) |

"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you
can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."
Ephesians 6:16
Satan will never stop shooting his flaming arrows of lies toward our
hearts and minds. His lies are always in conflict with the truth of the
grace of God freely given to us in Jesus. When his lies come, we shield
our hearts and minds from his lies by faith, or by believing the truths
of grace.
Here are the truths of grace from the book of Ephesians to believe when Satan seeks to deceive. |

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist... Ephesians 6:14
We are continuing to study the armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18. We have discovered that we take our stand against the lies of the devil and his powerful evil forces by standing in grace, or by believing the truths of all that God has freely done for us through Jesus in Ephesians 1,2, and 3. Let's now look take a closer look atstanding firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.
The purpose of a physical belt is to hold all of our clothes together so they do not come apart. |

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13
Because we have an enemy in the devil, along with his evil powerful forces in the earthly and heavenly realms who battle us daily, we must put on the full armor of God. The very armor our loving God provides us with to stand our ground.
So what is the armor of God that we must put on fully that empowers us to stand our ground against these evil enemies? |

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
We all know we are in daily battles. We fight these battles every day. They are real. However, we must identify who the real enemies are in these battles if we are to fight successfully and emerge from them victoriously.
So often in life, we feel like our battles are against others with whom we have relationships. |

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Paul, The Apostle of Grace Ephesians 6:10-11
In Ephesians 6:10-11, Paul begins bringing his letter to the Ephesian believers to a close. He instructs them to " |

Many families long for the day when their loved one breaks free from his addiction and begins living for the purpose for which God created him. They find it difficult to understand why their loved one just doesn't quit. Their loved one's addiction has resulted in tremendous loss, heartache, and pain, leaving a trail of self-destruction. But their loved one continues in this addictive life-style, and they do not know why.
So what goes on inside the heart and mind of one who has an addiction? |
