Many of us are familiar with the verse in 2 Corinthians which says: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 2:9)
To understand this verse more deeply, let’s study it in context.
The context of this verse begins with 2 Corinthians 10:1 and goes through 2 Corinthians 12:13.
In these verses, as well as other verses in 2 Corinthians and even 1 Corinthians, Paul is verbally attacked and slandered. |

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.” Philippians 4:23 Paul, The Apostle of Grace
Paul could have concluded his letter to the Philippians any way he chose...with any words he chose. Yet he chose to end his letter, as he does most of his letters, emphasizing the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Philippian believers experience of grace.
Paul did not choose to close his letter this way because it was a nice way to close the letter. No, he chose to conclude his letter this way because the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ had completely changed his life (1 Corinthians 15:10; 1 Timothy 1:12-17), and his assignment in life was to communicate grace to people (Acts 20:24). |

A major trigger for many people who have addictions is anxiety. In an attempt to calm themselves, they rely on different medications or alcohol. They, then, become dependent upon medication or alcohol, or a combination of the two, to relax.
Many people suffer from social anxiety. Social anxiety is the uncomfortable feelings that come from being around people. It is important to know social anxiety is real.
Many with social anxiety believe there is something terribly wrong with them. Because they feel this way, they attempt, through their addiction, to escape the uncomfortable feeling associated with social anxiety, not realizing their addiction is creating even more anxiety in their lives. |
